Penmaen A have retained their Division One title in the Boston and District Table Tennis League - with two matches to spare.

They did so following a 10-0 victory over Stickney A, Alan Ashberry, Brian Hill and Brett Heppenstall too strong for Gavin Herberts, Paul Hartnett and Vince Lozynsky.

Graves Park C moved up to third in the table with a comprehensive 10-0 defeat of stablemates Graves Park A, seven of the 10 games being over in straight sets.

Martin Walters, Mick East and James Quinton were successful, but the A team must now wait to see whether they can hang on to their sixth place in the division.

The week of one-sided matches continued as bottom team Graves Park D were at the wrong end of a 9-1 defeat to Penmaen B, who themselves have struggled all season at the lower end of the table.

This result puts Penmaen equal on points to Lodgers B, both teams having one match left to play to decide who gets relegated.

Scott Sykes and Neil Snaith won their matches for Penamen, although Roger Hooten was beaten by Mick Dodes.

Park’s fate now depends on the results of others.
