Former Boston High School pupil Maria Hollingsworth produced a personal best of 8.91 when competing in the 60m hurdles at the British Indoor Championships in Sheffield.

The 18-year-old shavedthree hundredths of a second off the time she clocked at last month’s London Indoor Games to finish sixth in her heat.

Hollingsworth is coached by Roy Thickpenny and is a member of Nene Valley Harriers.

She trains at Boston’s PRSA Tommy Clay Track and also the Embankment Track in Peterborough.

Beginning the year with a best of 8.98, Hollingsworth has now dipped inside that time on three occasions this year.

She opened her 2015 campaign with two victories at the Metaswitch Games at Lea Valley in 9.09 and 9.13 before running 8.94 and 8.96 in London.
