Philo wins the Kirton Holme Club Championship

JERRY Philo was once again crowned the champion of Kirton Holme Golf Club.

He was a wide margin winner with a 36-hole gross score of 147.

Phil Hulley was second with 161 and Barry Chambers came third with 164.

The Tigers’ medal winner for July was veteran David Welberry, who carded a gross 81, nett 69.

Paul McCartney was second on countback with a gross 81, nett 69 and Phil Hulley third, also on countback, with a gross 82, nett 69.

The Rabbits’ medal winner for June was John Teesdale, with a gross 93, nett 69.

Barrie Williamson was second on countback with a gross 95 nett, 69.

Richard Cambridge was in third, also on countback with a gross 89, nett 69.

The June stableford winner was Derek Adams with 42 points.

Vic Smith was second on countback, also with 42 and Nick Coupland third with 40 points.

The Seniors’ June medal was won by Brian Pullen, with a gross 88, nett 71.

Ron Spence was second with a gross 90, nett 72.

Third, on countback, was John Woodhead with a gross 91, nett 72.

The Senior’s stableford winner was Derek Bannister with 38 points.

Tom King was second on countback, also with 38, and Graham Morris came third with 37 points.
