Carlton Road had the chance to stake a claim for third place in The Mill Division One of the Boston Indoor Bowls League.

But a double week to forget saw them edge past bottom team Freelanders 5-1 before losing 6-0 to leaders Eastenders.

Results: Carlton Road 5 Freelanders 1, Eastenders 6 Carlton Road 0, A40 2 Halfpints 4, Invaders 6 Royal Mail 0, Jolly Farmers 4 Kirton 2, Holland Fen 6 IBC 0.

It was a shoot out for top spot in the T&B Containers Division Two, with leaders Punchbowlers and second-place Swineshead going head to head.

Punchbowlers came out on top in a close game, J. Skelton winning 16-13 and I. Drury adding a 17-14 success for a 6-0 win and a narrow lead to hang on to in the closing weeks.

Results: Punchbowlers 6 Swineshead 0, Boston Park 5 Parthians 1, The Crowns 6 Golfers 0, Strollers 2 Norprint 4, Feathers 6 Breakaways 0, Patriarchs 6 Amateurs 0.

Poachers are the Cammacks Division Three champions.

They beat Vikings 6-0 (M. Dodes 29-12 and D. Robins 30-13) and second-placed Sibsey lost 6-0 to High Flyers.
