Thomas Pogson has booked his place in the East MIdlands final of the ABAs.

The heavyweight defeated old rival Tony Riches by a unanimous decision in Retford on Sunday to set up a mouthwatering contest against Ross Hollis, another old foe.

The five judges were in no doubt that Pogson was too strong for his Skegness-based opponent at the weekend, especially as he was given a third-round standing eight count by the powerful Bostonian.

“You can’t do things by halves, I want to win the whole tournament,” said Pogson of the country’s top amateur competition.

Pogson has already claimed two winss and one defeat against Hollis, whom he defeated for the Midlands Challenge belt.

Pogson has also received some sponsorship from Tim Woodcock of hardwood log firm Keep Warm.
