A prominent athletics coach has had his licence withdrawn.
Dr George Skafidas has been banned from holding a coaching licence for five years following a Case Management Group hearing by UK Athletics on August 12.
A statement from the organisation said: “The CMG considered the evidence put before them and determined that one of the circumstances for withdrawal of a licence set out in condition 6.1 of the Coach Licence Terms and Conditions existed.”
A spokesman confirmed the ban did not relate to an anti-doping issue.
Mr Skafidas previously trained athletes at the Princess Royal Sports Arena.
