A record number of entrants will be competing at Boston Rowing Club’s Head Race event this weekend.

More than 300 singles, doubles, quads, fours and eights will compete over 3km and 5km on the Witham, finishing at the Carlton Road boathouse.

This means more than 600 rowers will be in attendance.

Boston club members will be pitting themselves against national clubs, Team GB hopefuls and new competitors.

The Witham is also the site where Team GB hold their trials twice a year.

However, trials late last year had to be cancelled following high winds making racing impossible to go ahead.

Boston Rowing Club have also announced they will be hosting taster sessions for juniors and adults, begginging in March.
