Boston Tennis Club have been in team action - with the start of the Lincolnshire Veterans League, The Boston and District Winter League and The Lincolnshire Mini Tennis Leagues.

The Boston and District Winter League saw Boston A – David Cheer, Harry Baldry, Sam Felipes and Jack Howard - win 5-2 against Boston D’s David Dunlop, Richard Cozens, Michal Chmielik and Thomas Cozens.

The Men’s Veteran Seconds faced Grimsby Seconds, and the team of Sev Smura, Richard Tupper, Jeremy George-Jones and Henry Cheer secured a 5-3 success.

The Boston Ladies also started with a win.

Having topped Division Two last season, the team began life in Division One with a 7-1 victory over Grimsby St James Seconds.

Linda Barrow, Rachel Gedney, Rachel Atkinson and Mary Smura represented the Boston vets side.

There was a sweet result for the Boston Men’s Veterans Firsts as Ray Frankish, Chris Cook, James Newton and Jeremy George-Jones won 5-3 against Eastgate, the team who pipped them to last season’s title.

The Lincolnshire Mini Tennis League included a win for Boston A and a loss for Boston C.

Boston C’s red, orange and green teams - William Lakin, Dylan Andrews, Devon Morgan, Thomas Piggins, Isabelle Servonat, Joshua Brooks and Tajus Duscjevicus - lost to Grantham.

The A team’s Thomas Hull, Matthew Dickens, William Cheer, Harvey Vickers, Rebecca Dickens, Lois Boothby, Samuel King and James Gedney beat Eastgate.
