THERE is a 50/50 chance of Team G&S rider Tom Fisher being able to race at Brands Hatch in the final round of the Metzeler National Supersport 600 championship this weekend.
He is not yet fully recovered from the injuries he received after being taken out by another rider on the first lap of the race last time out at Silverstone.
Tom suffered an ankle injury and also complained of a sore neck after being T-boned.
The injury to his ankle is the main concern as it is his gear-changing leg.
And unless he makes a quick recovery he will struggle to change gear during his race.
If the ankle continues to improve he will ride in the free practice session before making a final decision on whether to race.
“Although the swelling has gone down quite a bit the injury could be aggravated at Brands Hatch,” he said.
“Although I really do want to try and add to my points tally in the final round, I will not ride unless I feel comfortable.
“I don’t want to put either myself or anyone else at risk.”
Free practice is on Friday morning followed by the first of two qualifying sessions at 3.30pm that afternoon.
Final qualifying is on Saturday at 11.05am and the final race of the series is scheduled to run over 14 laps with a start time of 1.50pm on Sunday.
