Ron is first to win on Osprey Lake

Ron Roberts became the first angler to win on the newly-opened Osprey Lake.

Competing in the Sunday Open at Westwood Lakes, he landed a haul weighing in at almost 80lbs.

He was drawn at peg 22.

More than 900lbs of fish duly obliged the 21 anglers taking part.

Roberts was straight into the ravenous carp, fishing short at 5m on 4mm expander pellet over 4mm feed pellet, he earned a winning weight of 79lbs 9oz.

Steve Lane, on peg 15, was second with 64lbs 6oz and Luke Morley (peg 18) was third with 62lbs 12oz.

Results: 1 Ron Roberts (Liam’s Elite) 79lbs 9oz, 2 Steve Lane (Marukyu/Westwood Lakes) 64lbs 6oz, 3 Luke Morley (Sensas A4), 62lbs 12oz, 4 Tony Vamplew (Liam’s Elite) 60lbs 8oz, 5 Shane Wilcox (Dave’s Peg) 59lbs 15oz.
