Boston ABC fighter Justus Pundzius recorded his fifth straight victory when he snatched the decision away from James Lazenby in a bruising encounter.

Fighting in Hull on Saturday, he and his home-town opponent went at it from the first to the last bell, writes Neil Lockwood.

Neither was in control of the other lad .

However, in the closing minutes of the final round, Lazenby went on the defensive to protect a lead he believed he had created.

However, his move backfired as his left lead on the back foot offered no obstruction.

Instead, Pundzius fired two-handed attacks that swayed the decision his way.

Boston ABC boxers are appearing at tournaments in preparation for their home-town show next month.

Also competing in Hull was Samantha Brazil, after almost a season out of the ring.

However, she put all theeffort and energy she possessed into the opening two rounds of her contest with Olga Wilkinson.

At times, the girl from Hull was so desperate she resorted to spoiling tactics, in an attempt to weather the onslaught.

However, Wilkinson made it through and, with energy to spare, she was able to finish on top in the final round, against an opponent who had given her all.

Despite some of her power missing, Brazil - who is sponsored by Angels Taxis - stayed defiant to the end.

However, she had to concede the decision, which went in favour of the home-town fighter on this occasion.
