Ten crews from Boston Rowing Club took to the River Trent on Sunday for the annual Burton Head.
The East Midlands race calendar is unusually sparse this year, so this event was heavily oversubscribed, resulting in several Boston crews being rejected at entry level.
However, those that did get the thumbs up to compete were in fine form.
Dingo Summerfield and Jacques Gavey have been making names for themselves since the summer, and they romped to victory in the J15 2x category.
Jacques and Dingo are one of the Carlton Road Boathouses most experienced and successful crews, along with the Latka twins, Jasmine and Ruby.
A new string to club coach Adam Berry’s bow came in the shape of the WJ14 4x+ crew (pictured).
He has paired the Latka sisters with newcomers Maddy Lambe and Bunty Blanshard to create a victorious team which mixes skill and strength.
This Boston foursome also looked to be on course for victory in their WJ15 4x+ event, until injury struck mid-race.
Ted Pitman has capitalized on some new found speed and snuck victory in the J14 1x section against some favoured home crews.
Polly and Saffy Summerfield raced in the WJ18 2x and narrowly missed out on victory.
They were beaten by two young women who frequently race at adult level.
There is now a four-week wait until the next competition - the Soar Head event in Leicestershire.
