Boston athlete Ashley Sandall is preparing for the Aviva National Indoor Championships in style - by setting three personal best times.
After moving up to the under 17s age category, Ashley claimed the gold medal at the Northern Indoor Athletics Championships at Sheffield over 400m.
He was the quickest competitor out of the four heats and the semi-finals, setting indoor PBs in both these races.
In the final he set a third best time of 51.43 secs to take the gold medal.
Ashley is currently competing for Nene Valley Harriers, under the watchful eye of coach David Clay.
However, he continues to train at the town’s Princess Royal Sports Arena.
Ashley’s next major meet will be the indoor championships in Birmingham next month.
“Hopefully, I can be successful there,” he told The Standard.
