The Kirton Holme ladies’ section Birthday Bowl was won by Heather Scarboro.

She returned a magnificent 42 points - which sees her pick up a four-shot handicap cut.

In second place was Barbara Pell, who was returning after a long spell of injury, scoring 34 points.

In third, on countback, was Kellie Hadland with 32 points.

The winner of the longest drive was Hadland, who drove the ball 244 yards on the 17th hole.

The nearest the pin on the 12th was Mavis Ablard.

Prizes were also awarded to Yvonne Prior, who won the Winter League ahead of runner-up Chris Gill, and third-placed Vee King.

The Birdie Tree was won by Val Richardson and the Par Tree by Yvonne Prior.

The first friendly match of the season saw the ladies beat Sutton Bridge 3-1 at home.

Jackie Ward and Sarah Cantwell played in the Daily Mail Foursomes at Spalding GC and narrowly lost the match on the final hole.

Betty Gedney won the March stableford with 35 points, finishing ahead of runner-up Sophie Hawkesworth (434) and Paula Kidby (30).

A second monthly stableford was won by Ingrid King, her 39 points earning her a handicap cut.

Carol Nundy was second (30) and Kellie Hadland third (29).

A score of 13 points saw Gloria Bursnel win a nine-hole stableford, ahead of Pirjo Bennett (12) and Kathleen Holt (10).

A second nine-hole event was won by Shirley Rayner win with 17 points. Jean Cook and Christine Edmondson both finished with 13 points, with Jean taking second on countback.

The Sunday Monthly Medal was won by Vee King, her score of gross 92, nett 76 saw her foinish ahead of Hazel Smith (108, 82) and Yvonne Prior (113, 83).

Kellie Hadland won the Tuesday Monthly Medal with gross 87, nett 73.

In second was Vee King (90, 74) with Tricia Lacey third (103, 75).
