Season just gets better for Boston Wheelers

THE season just gets better and better for Boston Wheelers CC.

Last Tuesday evening Ian Scott, riding just north of the Humber, registered 23 mins 57 secs in his first 25mph 10-mile time trial since moving north from Cornwall.

Round six of the club’s 10-mile TT league saw some very fast times, with several members clocking a season’s best.

Asa Elkiington was fastest on the night with 23-47, but he was pushed hard by Dan Carr, registering a season’s best 24-05.

Other times were: Martin White 24-11, Darren Smith 25-14, Debbie Barnett 25-47, Peter Flint 25-58, Sam Cowan 26-06, Chris Clayton 28-19, Alan Sharpe 28-30, Martin Roberts 33-59.

Private Trial: Adrian Marshall (Yello Velo) 24-08.

Members took part in the latest round of the Lincolnshire Road Race League.

Held just outside Grantham on an undulating course over 30 miles, Charlie Porter registered another eighth place to keep him well in contention for a top three final placing.

Dan Carr, Asa Elkington, Chris Clayton, Debbie Barnett, Sam Cowan and Simon Plaice all finished strongly in the group, but out of contention.

The Wheelers meet on Tuesday evenings at 6.30pm on New Hamond Beck Road (alongside B&Q) or every Sunday morning outside the Post Office at 9am.
