Second for speedway ace Mickie

Mickie Simpson claimed second place as the Southern Track Riders amateur club hosted the third meeting of the year at King’s Lynn.

Heat one saw the Wrangle lad slide off in turn one, remount and continue, only to slide off again in turn three, coming second in the re-run.

He followed that up with a second-places in heast two, three and four before booking his place in the A Final by winning the B Final with the fastest time of the day in 73.9 secs.

In the A Final Jordan Palin took first spot with Mickie second, Nathan Ablitt third and Luke Harrison fourth, just two seconds between first and fourth.

At the event’s second round, Mickie finished third overall.

In the heats Mickie finished second, first, fourth and first - heat four his best ride with a time of 67.6 seconds.

With time running out the finals had to be cancelled and the points from the heats results were cast, with Sam Hagon first, Jordan Palin second, Mickie third.
