Megan Featherstone returned to sport taekwondo competition by taking a silver medal at the Scottish Championship in Edinburgh last weekend.

The 17-year-old was competing in one of her first senior events.

This success follows a silver medal won at the Scorpion Open, held in Barnsley in July, in the senior -57kg category.

She also claimed a bronze medal at the fifth Yorkshire Open in Bradford, competing in the senior -57kg in April.

There will be no rest for the Amber Hill resident as full training continues for the British Nationals, to be held at the Copperbox in London on September 24.

This is the UK’s biggest taekwondo event, meaning large numbers of competitors and higher standards of sparring.

Megan is preparing long and hard for this event and is looking to gain her first gold in seniors.
