Sleaford Road are the Boston and Skegness EBA Bowls League’s Division One champions after a very close final game to decide the title against Burton House.

The visitors arrived looking for a minimum of eight points to go into their last game with a chance of the title.

It looked possible with Gary Morris’s rink looking comfortable and Graham Porter’s rink up with a few ends to go against Chris Gill’s set.

However, Chris has been in superb form this season and he made some terrific shots to steer his set to a three-shot victory.

This left the close tussle between Geoff Parker and Mick Asplen on the green for a final end.

Mick required a four which was a tall order against experienced opponents and only managed a two to lose his rink by one.

This gave Sleaford Road four points and the title.

Suncastle were already relegated but had two potentially important games which could have repercussions at both ends of the table.

They visited Boston BC and, in a very close game, lost on all rinks for a 9-1 score, securing BBC’s safety.

Suncastle’s second game was away at Burton House, with the House winning 10-0.

West End travelled to Stickney requiring three points for safety but only managed two points through Jeff Skelton’s rink.

West End’s superior shot difference means they are safe and Wrangle are relegated with Suncastle.

Skegness Foreshore and Friskney concluded their season in a tight match which Foreshore edged 7-3.
