Smashing tennis work makes Frank the king of the Castle

FORMER professional tennis player Andrew Castle presented Boston Tennis Club members with trophies at the Lincolnshire Lawn Tennis Association Annual Awards at Woodhall Spa on Friday evening.

FORMER professional tennis player Andrew Castle presented Boston Tennis Club members with trophies at the Lincolnshire Lawn Tennis Association Annual Awards at Woodhall Spa on Friday evening.

The television presenter and former player handed club secretary Frank Cammack the Lifetime Contribution to Lincolnshire Tennis award for his services to the sport and his outstanding work at Boston Tennis Club, leading the club to the unprecedented achievement of winning the Lawn Tennis Association’s Club of the Year award twice.

Henry Beesley won an individual junior achievement award for performance at an international level, having won a competition in Barbados.

Mark Thompson and James Shacklock were among the Lincolnshire players to receive their county colours.

Other trophy winners from Boston were the Aegon Team Tennis under eights mini reds and the under 16 girls team for winning county leagues.

The under 14 boys collected a trophy for their performances in the regional league, as did the men’s and ladies’ teams.

In the Lincolnshire Doubles League Boston’s ladies’ and men’s fifth teams both won Division 3B of the league. The ladies’ first team are the current Lincolnshire Champions.
