Special Olympics comes to the PRSA

THE Princess Royal Sports Arena will entertain 70-plus athletes taking part in the Special Olympics East Midlands annual athletics event on Saturday (10am-4pm).

Athletes will be travelling from Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Norfolk, Birmingham and Sheffield as well as 31 athletes from Lincolnshire.

Boston athletes Kate Headland, Jon Stevens and John Gleadell will be competing for medals in 50m, softball, 200m and 400m events

Clare Pattison, organiser of the event, said: “We are pleased once again to be hosting this event at the PRSA as the track and facilities are just perfect for our athletes with a learning disability. This event is the highlight of the year for some of our athletes .”
