A volunteer from Boston has won £50 for completing 10 hours as a Sport Maker and encouraging more people to take part in sport.
Danni Carter is currently studying at Bishop Grosseteste University in Lincoln.
As part of the Sport Makers programme, she has encouraged her family to be more active and is running her university’s netball society.
She logged her first 10 Sport Maker volunteer hours in November and was randomly selected to win the £50 prize draw.
Danni said: “It was really easy to go through the Sport Makers journey and attend the workshops.
“Through doing Sport Makers, my confidence has grown and I got to share all my enthusiasm and passion for sport with other people.”
Sport Makers is a national Sport England project building on the success of Games Makers at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
It aims to make it easy for people across the UK to make sport happen; whether it’s arranging a run with colleagues, a game of badminton with your family, a five-a-side football tournament with friends, or supporting a sports event or sports club.
Nationally, Sport Makers will encourage 40,000 new sports volunteers by September 2013.
In Lincolnshire, more than 500 new volunteers will be recruited to encourage more people to be more active.
