Swimmers top Fenland League table

Boston Swimming Club currently sit in top spot in the Fenland League after earning a gala victory in Whittlesey.

Boston swimmers finished in the top two positions in all but three of the opening 16 races, holding an eight-point lead.

Wins then followed for Jack Robinson (boys’ 10/u 50m backstroke), Tegan Harrison (girls’ 10/u 50m backstroke), Katie Scott (girls’ 12/u 50m backstroke), Amy Stratton (girls’ nine-years 50m breaststroke), Jack Robinson (boys 10/u 50m freestyle) and Eloise Roberts (girls’ 10/u 50m freestyle) to stretch their lead to 14 points over Deepings after 34 races.

The wins kept coming and by the time the final event, the 8x25m mixed relay, had started, Boston were clear winners.

Final points: 1 Boston 181, 2 Deepings 152, 3 Chatteris 146, 4 St Neots Swans 88, 5 March 87.

Boston are top of the league on 10 points, with Deepings, Wisbech and Peterborough A in joint second place on nine.
