Despite their first-week heroics, Swineshead have slipped to the bottom of the Boston Indoor Bowls League Division One table.

This week’s thumping 6-0 defeat by title favourites Holland Fen not only sent them to the bottom but also elevated the victors to top spot.

Halfpints squeaked past Invaders 6-0 (S. Lawrence 14-11, R. McDonald 21-20), before defeating Carlton Road 6-0 (S. Lawrence 19-11, T. Nunn 29-15).

A40 defeated IBC 4-2, M. Asplen 20-17, bettered by J. Gott’s 27-18.

Invaders’ I. Tebbs won 19-16 but Eastenders’ P. Flatters replied 24-14 for a 4-2 win.

Royal Mail beat Jolly Farmers, A. Hill’s 19-13 pipping J. Moore’s 23-22.
