Two youngsters from Boston’s Lone Wolf Taekwondo claimed winners medals at the ITF Midlands Open.

In an event which boasted more than 300 competitiors, Enia Rikena and Matthew Bell both finished in top spot in their events.

Enia won the under 10s red tag patterns division and Matthew came first in his under 12s red belt patterns section.

The duo were part of a four-man team who were coached at the event by Lone Wolf instructor Robin Ford and assistant coach Caroline Kibby.

Adding to the success was seven-year-old Jack Thompson, who claimed second place in the under eights blue tag pattern division.

The only adult that competed on the day for the Boston club was first dan Ben Roberts.

He placed third in the first to third dan black belt patterns event and and third in the black belt middle weight sparring competition.

The students now have just three weeks to prepare for the Lone Wolf Taekwondo club competition, held on April 28 at the Kirton Middlecott Sports centre.
