Boston Rowing Club hosted the Great Britain Junior Rowing Trials on the Witham this weekend.
The junior men’s event was won in a convincing time of 19.22 seconds by Norwich Rowing Club.
This time was just 20 seconds slower than the fastest senior man in the full GB trials the previous week.
The junior ladies’ trial format has been rejuvenated in a bid to increase GB’s involvement in the Junior World Championships.
The girls began at the Princess Royal Sports Arena with a 250m sprint on the rowing machines.
This was followed by a power output test before they took to the water for a 2km time trial.
It was a Nottingham RC competitor who took the honours.
The top rowers from the event will now be invited to the stage two event, also hosted by the Carlton Road Boathouse, on January 19.
