HENRY Beesley has been tipped to become a tennis star of the future.

The Boston Tennis Club member was given the thumbs up by coaches after appearing at the Lawn Tennis Association’s National Talent ID Finals.

The event is geared to putting promising youngsters through their paces, so the LTA’s top junior coaches can run the rule over them together.

Competing at Bolton, 12-year-old Henry was one of 50 youngsters to progress to the final week.

“Henry has performed really well and shown lots of ability across a number of different tasks,” said LTA Head of talent management Andrew Lewandowski.

The youngsters were each tested on qualities such as athletic ability, co-ordination, speed, agility, natural talent and their love for the sport.

Henry said: “This was the first one (I’d been to) so I was a bit nervous before as I didn’t really know what to expect.

“I was still looking forward to it and hopefully I have learnt a few things from the coaches and can improve my game.”
