Boston Tennis Club’s Ladies’ Firsts and the Men’s Third teams had good wins in the Aegon Team Tennis County Leagues.
The Ladies beat the club’s Seconds 12-0, with Rachel Atkinson, Danielle Frankish, Emily Hawkesworth and Ashleigh Frankish too strong for Victoria Needham, Andrea Jackson, Joan Beale and Linda Barrow.
The Mens’ Third team had a compelling match at Eastgate in Division Two of the county Aegon League, Zach McDonnell-Woods, Sam Felipes, Michael Audus and Mike Sweeney turned a 1-3 losing position around to draw 3-3 and win the tie-break shoot-out.
It was not close for Boston Mens’ Second team, who lost out to a very strong Louth Firsts in Division One of the Aegon County League. The team was Calum McCaig, Jack Morrow, James Newton and Ryan Frankish.
In the Slazenger Doubles League, Boston’s Ladies’ First team missed out 4-5 to Grantham in the team’s second match of the season in Division One.
Playing for the firsts were Rachel Atkinson, Andrea Jackson, Ashleigh Frankish, Victoria Needham, Emily Hawkesworth and Linda Tinsley.
The Boston Tennis Club Ladies’ Thirds - Hilary Calvert, Joan Beale, Emma Mastin, Helen Motson, Sophie Hawkesworth and Sue Dring - lost out 1-8 to Sleaford Firsts in the Lincolnshire Doubles League Division Two
It was a similar result for Boston Mens’ Fifth team - Peter Elphick, Jeremy George-Jones, Richard Tupper, Michal Chmielik, David Makins and Courtney George-Jones - losing 8-1 to Rustons in Division 3B.
