Tennis club’s men’s team continue winning start

BOSTON Tennis Club’s Men’s Firsts kept their 100 per cent record intact in the Regional Division of Aegon Team Tennis event.

Hosting Northampton Lawn Tennis Club on Sunday, they made it a convincing second win this season.

The team of Will Mason, Dominic Beesley, Richard Cook and Steve Green won all four singles and then both of the doubles rubbers to stamp their authority on this fixture.

In the Slazenger Lincolnshire Doubles League, there were two in-club matches.

Boston ladies’ Firsts beat the Seconds, and the Boston men’s Fifths beat the Sixths.

Thomas Cozens went to Eastgate for a grade four tournament and reached the semi-finals, but was knocked out by a higher-rated player from Yorkshire.

The bad weather on Easter Monday did not detract from the enjoyment of the golf-tennis Day, played in conjunction with Boston Tennis Club and Kirton Holme Golf Club.

The winning team that came through tough competition and the inclement conditions were Joseph Gray, Shane Gray, Mike Sweeney, Michael Walker, Helen Cook, Sophie Hawkesworth, Kevin and Bradley Worth.
