Playing for Boston E was new captain Rob Griffiths, along with Rob Bonser, Rob Smith and Andrew Dockerill.

Boston F had Richard Woods, Zach McDonnell-Woods, Toby McDonnell-Woods and Tom Emmerson in action.

Resistance was presented by Boston E but just not enough to prevent Boston F winning on this occasion.

Boston D had a 5-3 win over Horncastle.

The team was David Dunlop, Tom Cozens, Richard Cozens and Simon Buchanan.

The Boston Men’s Senior Second team – Chris Cook, Andy Clamp, David Makins and Fred Calvert - had a tough first division encounter away at Grimsby, frequent winners of this League, and lost 0-4.

All this week Boston’s Halloween Grade 4 Tournament is taking place at the Sleaford Road club.

Sunday was the turn of the men, and the main Open Men’s event was won by Yorkshire’s Ronan Sahni.

Running alongside it was another men’s event – a grade 5 competition.

There were a number of Boston Tennis Club members in this and Toby McDonnell-Woods was the runner up, reaching the final after a win over Pawel Aranin, and then narrowly missing out in the third set to James Clarke.

Also competing were Michael Audus, Phillippe Servonat, Ryan Frankish and Joe Parla.
