Thirty youngsters competed in the second in the series the of Boston and District AC Junior Sportshall Athletics Team competitions at The B Hive.

Seven teams contested the 42 events on the programme, with Laura Van Lier’s Tigers quartet winning.

The Tigers accumulated 77 points to finish ahead of Chocolate Thunder, led by Kieran Pickwell (70) an Team Dynamite (68).

Van Lier won the under 15 speed bounce (120) and was second in the four-lap race (46.0secs).

Daniel Bradshaw won the under 13 standing long jump (2.00m) and the vertical jump (50cm), while Hallam Bedford won the under 11s speed bounce (67).

Jessica Chand made valuable contributions at under seven to the winning team.

Chocolate Thunder captain Keiran Pickwell won the under 15 standing long jump (2.20m) and Melena Baxter won the under nines standing long jump (1.65m) and the two-lap race (24.4 secs).

Under 11 Shane Canham won the two-lap event (24.4 secs) and Jack Sill was second in the under 13 standing long jump (1.80m).

Third-placed Team Dynamite captain Thomas Johnson secured joint-second place in the under 15 four-laps (46.0 secs) and under nine Hadley Bedford won the vertical jump with 38cm.

At under 11 level, Joshua Gurton won both the two-lap race (23.8 secs) and the vertical jump (37cm) and William Wright scored points on the track and in the range of field events.

There were a number of other notable performances.

William Swain captained The Lions and won the under 15 four-lap race (44.5 secs).

Alicia Baxter took first position in the under 11 standing long jump (1.55m) and Sport s Stars skipper Matthew Connolly won the under 15 vertical jump (52cm).

Kieran Duncan- Johal, representing the Fantastic Four, won both the under 13 speed bounce (117) and the standing long jump (2.00m).
