TJs Gymnastics girls swap the beam for the plank

AHOY there! Fourteen girls from TJ Gymnastics’ artistic squad travelled to Milton Keynes for the National Roses competition.

For some of the younger girls it was their first major event, for others it was their second year participating.

Keira Menzies, Dominika Zuk and Weronika Zuk competed in the Tea Rose group, bringing home six medals.

Keira won silver on beam, Dominika gold on range and conditioning, and Weronika gold on bars and trampette, and silver on beam and range and conditioning.

Amber Glasel and Gracie Chase competed in the Wild Rose group. Amber won gold on range and conditioning, silver on bars and bronze in tumble and trampette.

Gracie won gold on range and conditioning, and bronze on beam.

In the Tudor Rose group, Tegan Rogers won gold on range and conditioning, silver on tumble, range and conditioning, and trampette. Paige Wallis won gold on vault, and bronze on beam, bars, tumble and trampette.

Holly Menzies, Zoe Worthington, Andrea Barnes, Romae Mackintosh, Cherida Sohngen Jasmine Clare and Katie Vickers competed in the Moss Rose group in different age groups.

Holly won gold on tumble, and beam, silver on trampette and bronze on bars. Zoe won bronze on range and conditioning. Cherida won silver on bars and bronze on trampette. Jasmine won bronze on range and conditioning and Katie won four golds on range and conditioning, bars, tumble, vault and a silver on trampette.

All the girls also competed in the group floor routine dressed as pirates performing to Pirates of the Caribbean music, finishing in third place.

The girls won a total of 34 medals between them, a fantastic result and huge addition to the total medals the girls have won this year.
