The top two in Division One of the Boston Indoor Bowls League both bit the dust this week.

Leaders Holland Fen found third-placed Carlton Road too strong and lost 6-0, with victories for L. Feary (21-13) and C. Gill (20-15).

Second-placed Eastenders fell 4-2 to lowly IBC, a 22-16 from J. Powell, D. Smith and R. White easily beating the 16-15 reply from M. Whyers.

Eastenders, however, did find their form in a second fixture, beating Jolly Farmers 4-2 and going top as P. Flatters’ 24-13 bettered R. Allen’s 14-13.

Jolly Farmers consolidated fourth place with a 5-1 win over bottom team Swineshead, J. Maury winning 24-26 and J. Moore and J. Craft level at 14-14.

A40 just got the better of Half Pints, a 23-18 from S. King beating M. Brown’s 17-13 reply by one for a 4-2 win.

Invaders beat Royal Mail 6-0 (R. West 21-13, S. Whyers 19-17).

The top three in Division Two all recorded comfy 6-0 wins.

Norprint stopped Feathers’ run of seven straight wins (J. Nicholson 25-11, T. Hall 20-11), Golfers beat fourth-placed Parthians (G. Scarboro 23-17, N. Ablard 17-12) while Punchbowlers comfortably despatched The Crowns (I. Drury 20-10, C. Bush, M. McNeish and T. Bush 36-7).

Poachers moved into fourth place with a 6-0 win over Breakaways (J. Sellars 23-13, M. Dodes 24-13).

Mid-table Strollers beat Patriarchs 6-0 (M. Hippisley 21-8, A. Everitt 19-18) and Amateurs gave themselves a bit of breathing space with a 6-0 win over Boston Park (M. Greet 20-15, A. Nixon 23-21).

Third division leaders The Burtons consolidated their position with a 6-0 win over BBC (D. Bailey 18-10, C. Hill 18-17) as Central and Hotspurs took points off each other in a very close game.

M. Nicholls won 22-13 for Central, which was just one more than M. Goodeson’s 18-10 reply for Hotspurs, earning a 4-2 win.

Fairways lost ground on the teams above after a 6-0 defeat by Traders (N. Stanley 15-14, G. Wells 18-12).

Sibsey drew level with Fairways after a close 4-2 win over U3.

C. Russell’s 19-15 just beat A. Jackson’s 15-13 reply.

The Autos’ dismal run continued with a 6-0 defeat by Vikings (P. Jacklin 19-16, D. Staples 18-14) and High Flyers made up ground on Shipmates with a 5-1 win.

E. Lewis’ 15-11 and a 16-16 between B. Trigg and W. Parker settled the contest.
