Tournament success for young tennis aces

Boston Tennis Club’s juniors have been taking advantage of the recent half-term holidays to play in tournaments around the country.

Lewis Fisher won the men’s Open Singles at the David Lloyd Derby Winter Grade three tournament, winning the final on a third set tie-break.

Lewis was also runner up in the 18 and under event.

Henry Beesley won the 16 and under event at the Tipton Winter Open Grade three tournament, beating Shropshire’s number one boy at this age group.

Also playing at the same Tipton Winter Open tournament, Boston Tennis Club member Anna Coghlan finished third in the eight and under girls’ event.

Joe Woolley played in the Aegon British Tour at Corby and had two good results before losing in three sets to Joshua Goodall in the quarter-finals.

Joshua Goodall was the eventual winner.

Joe Woolley, Lewis Fisher and Henry Beesley will be members of the Lincolnshire Team due to play at Sunderland this coming weekend in the LTA’s Winter County Cup.
