BOSTON tennis aces Sam and Joe Fisher and William Cheer have shared a court with Britain’s number one female player Elena Baltacha.
The trio brushed up on their skills at the Nottingham Festival of Tennis as they enjoyed a dream masterclass with the world’s 74th-ranked female.
They joined 14 of the most promising junior players from the area to pick up tips and advice from Baltacha.
The masterclass, run by lead sponsor of British Tennis Aegon, was a reward for young players after they acted as a ballkids in the Nottingham Festival of Tennis, which comprised the Aegon Trophy and the Aegon Nottingham Challenge.
Ten-year-old Sam said his chance to hit on court with Baltacha will inspire him to continue playing tennis in the future.
“I really enjoyed playing tennis with Elena – to be able to get advice from a top player like her was the highlight of my week,” said Sam.
Eight-year-old Joe who joined his brother this week as a ballkid said: “This is my first time as a ballkid and it has been a lot of fun and I was really pleased to be asked to play with Elena today.”
Baltacha was in Nottingham fresh from reaching the French Open second round last month and spent time with the youngsters running through tennis drills on court.
