Under 14s fight hard in defeat

Boston Tennis Club’s the under 14 boys played their last match in the Aegon Team Tennis Premier League, being beaten 8-4 at Virgin Active in Warwickshire.

Michael Niedermeier won his singles match 6-1 6-0 and then went onto win his doubles with Harry Foster.

Jake Sherrick and Lucas East lost a very hard doubles match 1-6 5-7.

Jake and Lucas played some amazing doubles tennis while Harry battled hard at number three and Michael picked up three wins playing at number four.

Although, the team were unable to pick-up any points in the group, there was some great tennis played.

The under 14 girls have played some tough tennis in the Aegon Team Tennis Premier League.

Lucy Hull, Victoria Beardsley, Chloe Robinson and Paris Wright were beaten 8-4 at Tipton.

The Boston Red A team sealed a top of the league position in the Aegon Team Tennis competition with a 20-12 win against Burton Waters at the weekend.

The team was Finley Mackey, Jacob Felipes, William Pettitt and Jacob Scuffham.

The Boston Men’s Seconds won Division Two.

Against the Grantham B team on Sunday, Simon Bush, Callum Simmons, Richard Cook and James Newton won 8-4.

Boston Tennis Club’s Ladies’ Day saw 48 players compete.

Twenty-four competitors from other clubs - Horncastle, Bourne, Sleaford, Woodhall Spa, Grantham and Tennis Buddies - took part in the TBS sports-sponsored event.

The winners of the four groups were Sue Burnett and Penny Daniels (Boston), Liz Williams and Wendy Stewart (Grantham), Jane Clark and Jane Wattam (Horncastle), Jenny Murphy and Carole Evans (Boston).
