The last old bird race of the pigeon racing season was the 400-miler from Thurso, held in conjunction with the North Road Championship Club.

Bad weather delayed the liberation until Monday, and a south-east wind made it a hard race.

Fastest into Boston was to the successful loft of Carl Upsall and grandson Reece of Boston Central RPC, while Mr and Mrs Brian Garnham took the first three places in Boston and District RPC.

Boston Central: 1 and 2 Upsall and Grandson 657 and 617 yards per minute.

Boston and District RPC: 1, 2 and 3 Mr and Mrs B. Garnham 649, 592 and 572, 4 L.R. Manning 569, 5 Mr and Mrs Garnham 568, 6 and 7 D. Brackenbury 558 and 540, 8 and 9 L.R. Manning 527 and 484, 10 Mr and Mrs Garnham 471, 11 D. Brackenbury 468.734, 12 Mr and Mrs Garnham 468.156.
