Victories for BADAC athletes at Humberside Track and Field event

Boston and District AC representatives travelled to Grimsby for the first of this season’s Humberside Track and Field League matches.

In the under 15 boys’ age group, Alex Riches won the long jump with a best leap of 3.66m and then recorded debut performances in the 100m (15.3 secs) and the 200m (31.7secs).

In the under 13 boys’ category, Hallam Bedford recorded a personal best 3.37m in long jump to secure fifth place and finished in the same position in heat two of the 200m (34.4 secs).

Jake Baxter had an encouraging start in long jump, clearing 3.16m for eighth place and recorded 16.7secs in fifth position in heat one of the 100m.

Under 11 Haddley Bedford won heat two of the 80m sprint (13.3 secs) and the finished third in a 17-strong long jump contest with a best leap of 2.84m.

In the senior women’s section, Rebecca Grice was second in the 100m in 17.1secs and repeated the placing over 200m, clocking 37.8 secs.

She added two third positions in shot (5.16m) and javelin (13.80m).

Emma Penson was third in the 200m (40.4 secs), third in shot (3.08m) and fifth in javelin (8.78m).

Under 13 Alicia Baxter achieved a personal best performance in shot when 4.63m gave her third place and she also added value in long jump, coming 17th with 2.58m.

At under 11 level, Melena Baxter won heat two of the 100m (13.7 secs) and added a third place in long jump (2.84m).

Georgia Ward notched up a PB in eighth place in shot with a putt of 2.17m and recorded 30.9 secs in sixth position in heat two of the 150m.

An under 13 combined 4x100m relay team crossed the finish line sixth in 68.3 secs.
