Two Boston Amateur Boxing Club fighters earned unanimous decisions on the road this weekend.
Senior Tommy Upsall beat Sergio Pita while teenager Adrianna Finch proved too hot for Natalie Dobin to handle.
Upsall, sponsored by Wolfspeed Designs, was in action at Burgess Hall, St Ives, Cambridgeshire.
He started strongly against his Campol ABC opponent and Upsall’s corner were urging their man to not get involved with close exchanges, especially as Pita was suited to this style.
And as the Bostonian kept Pita at long range, catching him with counter attacks, he took control of the bout.
A late flurry in the final round left the judges with no doubt who should take the contests, with Upsall seing his arm raised.
Finch was fighting north of the Humber on the City of Hull ABC boxing show.
She started well with a solid backhand paying dividends.
Finch’s fantastic workrate had an effect on Dobin, and a strong surge in the end of the second round which drew blood from her opponent’s nose.
Dobin showed lots of courage in the final round, continuing to the final bell, but her wounded nose needed further treatment.
Boston ABC will hold their second show of the season at Haven High Technical College on March 22,.
Tickets cost £10.
