Boston Tennis Club’s Ladies’ veterans team gained promotion to the top flight of the Lincolnshire Veterans League.

Jenny McGarel, Rachel Gedney, Rachel Atkinson and Mary Smura stormed to an 8-0 victory over Horncastle, who had recently topped the table - enough to see them go into first.

Boston Men’s Seconds - Peter Elphick, Geoff Presland, Henry Cheer and Jeremy George-Jones - lost 1-7 to league champions Eastgate.

Boston’s A team earned a hard-fought victory in the Lincolnshire Winter Mini League.

Serena Morrow, Tuula Sohngen, Devon Morgan, Rebecca Dickens, William Cheer, Millie Alexander, Matthew Dickens and Paris Royal beat Horncastle.

A number of mini-level tournaments have been held at the Sleaford Road club.

Thomas Piggins beat Tuula Sohngen to win the red event.

William Cheer won the orange level, beating Nottinghamshire’s Haydn Oakes in the final.

At 12 and under, Daniel Dorey Rodriguez was the overall winner.

Meanwhile, at 14 and under, Victoria Beardsley and Blake Kenneally-Forrester won the girls and boys events.
