Boston Tennis Club’s under 14 boy’s A team beat Louth 5-1 in the Lincolnshire Junior Autumn League... booking their place in the play-offs after topping the table.

The team of Lucas East, William Cutforth, Harry Foster and Trent Hutson were involved in an entertaining tussle.

After the doubles ended all square, number two seed William won his first set on a tie break 7-6, but stepped up to take the second set 6-2.

Lucas dug in hard to come back from a set down to win the second 6-2, and held his nerve in a very exciting tie break to take the match at 10-5.

Harry eventually won a hard-fought match against Ryan Scaman 7-5, 7-5 and Trent took his singles match to a third set tie break, coming back from one set down and 4-1 down in the second to run out a 10-7 winner.

In the Lincolnshire Mini Tennis Winter Indoor League, Boston B’s green team - James Burrell and Will Shears - had wins over Sleaford and Boston D’s Lilia Halyova and Bethany Hayes (2-1).

Boston Red A had wins against Rustons and Grantham B, thanks to William Pettitt, Jacob Felipes, Poppy Gibbons and Alina Rubina.

In the Lincolnshire Slazenger Senior Winter League, Boston Ladies beat Boston Ladies’ Seconds 7-1 in Division One.

Jenny McGarel, Rachel Gedney, Linda Barrow and Sue Burnett got the better of Claire Smith, Jane Hindmarch, Helen Duckett and Catherine Ellis.

The Seconds have also played Bourne and missed out 1-7 with Joan Beale, Catherine Ellis, Jane Hindmarch and Claire Smith in the team.
