Waltham saves his best until last

Andy Waltham produced his best performance of the season when he finished 22nd in the senior, junior and veteran men’s race in the final Lincolnshire Cross Country League match.

Working hard on the hilly terrain, Andy maintained good momentum throughout on the course at Louth, running especially strongly on the uphill sections of the final lap of the three-lap challenge.

Holding his form right through to the finish, he claimed 22nd place for Boston and District AC.

Hallam Bedford also showed some fighting spirit in the under 11s race.

He produced a determined run to enter the finish funnel in 12th position for his best result of the season so far.

All 38 finishers received a Santa Medal at the end of the Boston and District AC Fun Run held in conjunction with Brothertoft Christmas Fair held in the B-Hive on Sunday.

Blake Garwell was first finisher, ahead of Chris Tuck.

Matthew Connelly was in third place.

Catherine Turner, in fourth place, was the first female finisher .
