Once again Sibsey C found their opponents too good in Division One of the Boston and District Table Tennis League, losing 10-0 to the impressive Graves Park C team.

Martin Walters, James Quinton and Graham Walters all played very well to clinch their victories, James winning all his games in straight sets whilst Martin only dropped one end - to Roger Hooton.

A closely-fought and enjoyable match between two Graves Park’s B and D teams resulted in a narrow 6-4 win for the B team, which was not enough to steer them clear of relegation worries.

Alan Reetham picked up his three, dropping just one set, to Mick Dodes, whilst Mike Freeston chipped in with two, against Dave Walters and Mick.

Mat Lilly beat Mike and Mick Maltby, while Dave Walters had a disappointing evening, losing his three.

Richard Hill was drafted in from Division Two to make up the numbers as Sibsey C travelled to Stickney, and certainly gave Jack Christian something to think about, taking the first end before Jack hit back to take the second end at deuce, and easing home in the next two legs. Chris Cooke saved a whitewash with a fine four set win over Vince Lozynsky.

Gavin Herberts and Jack took on Dave Smith and Chris in the doubles, enduring a close call in the second leg, eventually winning it 17-15 on their way to a three-set victory.

With Nick Langley still unavailable, Graves Park A were forced to play Lodgers A with only two players, but Rob Smith made the opposition work hard, beating both Mark Hulme and Tim Day; against Mark, Rob lost the first two ends at deuce, but fought back to take the next three.

Graham Lacey won his games in straight sets before teaming up with Mark as Lodgers won the doubles.
