CALLUM Johnson is looking to earn his stripes... against The Tiger!
The Boston light heavyweight will fight 38-year-old Belfast boxer Tommy Tolan at Glasgow’s Braehead Arena on Saturday.
Commonwealth Gold medallist Johnson only discovered the identity of his opponent on Thursday.
But he remains confident that he has a more fearsome bite than the man known as The Tiger.
“It doesn’t matter who I’m fighting, I’m going to take their head off,” said Boston banger Johnson.
Tolan, an orthodox fighter, may have lost nine of his 13 professional fights – including stoppages against Olympians Tony Jeffries and Billy Jo Saunders – but he can also finish an opponents, with three of his four wins coming by way of knockout.
Johnson has won his three pro fights, stopping Philip Townley and getting comfortable decisions at the expense of Jody Meikle and Lee Duncan.
