BEN Wilson is determined to turn agony into ecstasy – by getting his hands on the British Supersport title.
The Kirton rider was devastated after being pipped to the championship by a solitary point, as rival Alistair Seeley beat him in the final race of last year’s campaign.
But after completing a bout of pre-season testing at Brands Hatch and Snetterton, as well as two track days in Calafat, Spain, the Gearlink Kawasaki ace is eager to see the green light go up for the season.
Wilson said: “Although we have a brand new bike this year, it is the same model as I have been riding over the past four years, so we knew what to expect of it.
“All four days were just shakedown tests to re-familiarise myself with the bike and get up to speed after the winter break. The bike ran very well and I was able to record some really fast lap times and I feel confident I can be competitive and mount a challenge for the title I missed out on last year.”
At the Calafat circuit, Wilson joined his teammate David Jones. The pair put in a solid performance, completing a fair few laps on the new Kawasaki ZX6R, to complete a successful shake down test.
The new season kicks off at Brands Hatch over the Easter weekend of April 6-9.
