Ben Wilson returned from Snetterton with just one point in the bag after crashing out of the first British Superbike race and finishing the second in 15th place.
The Kirton rider has suffered ongoing problems with the Gearlink Kawasaki Superbike which is still in the early stages of development.
He was determined to do well and made it through to the second stage of qualifying for Sunday’s first race and was awarded a place on the sixth row.
After making a fast start his race was over at the second corner when he was pushed wide as another rider tried to pass on the inside. This resulted in Ben colliding with Michael Rutter.
Ben was placed on the very last row for the start of race two later in the day and began the race from 25th position. But he got away to a speedy start and was up to 17th by the end of the first lap. He made further progress up to 14th on lap four but then began to lose touch with the leading group and crossed the finish line in 15th place.
The next round is at Knockhill, in Scotland, on June 29.
