North of England Championships U20-U17-U15,

AT THE Costello Stadium, in Hull, the academy earned themselves six medals and set a new record during the North of England Championships.

The three gold, two silver and one bronze medals were awarded to Michael Craven who came first in the U20 2000m steeple chase and second in the U20 5000m, Ashley Sandall who came first in the U15 300m, Tiago Torres who came first in the U15 high jump, Kaine Walker who came second in the U17 400m hurdles and Daniel Patterson 3rd U20 2000m steeple chase.

Coach George Skafidas said the teams best performance was by Ashley Sandall in the U15 300m who set a new championships record of 36.81 which is the number two performance in UK for 2012 and fifth Best performance of all time in UK.

He said his proudest moment was Daniel Patterson’s medal and performance that came as a result of commitment and consistency in the academy and work of six years and his saddest moment was a collision between Kaine Walker and the athlete in the next lane during the U17 100m Hurdles that caused Kaine the miss of possible Gold medal.
