Wrangle B have picked up the pace in the A.D. Division Two of the Boston and District Table Tennis League.

This week they achieved a creditable 8-2 victory over Lodgers D, David Butler and Tim Sampson winning their three but Tony Hall losing to Steve Blanchard, and the doubles going Lodgers’ way.

Steve Hill - joint number one-ranked player in this division - enjoyed another clean sweep of victories when Lodgers H travelled to Sibsey B.

Richard Hill lost to Gavin Read and Wayne Groony went down to Simon Raistrick, but the Lodgers duo both won two in an 8-2 success.

Sibsey B enjoyed more success when they beat two-man Penmaen C 9-1 in a match postponed from January, only Dave Smith saving Penmaen from a whitewash by beating Wayne Grooby.

Richard Hill and Steve Hill both won their matches.

Two-man Graves Park Nomads inflicted a few shocks on hosts Wrangle B, despite the 7-3 scoreline suggesting that Wrangle had a comfortable evening.

David Butler beat both Gary Hill and Chips Davey, while Tim Sampson and Tony Hall had to be content with one each.

Nomads’ Gary Hall and Chips Davey won one each and combined to claim the doubles, but the three extra points helped Wrangle.
