Finch offered chance to train with the GB squad

Boston ABC’s Angelica Finch has been offered the opportunity to attend a Great Britain squad training camp in Sheffield, while older sister Adrianna has received confirmation that England boxing want her to remain on their Talent Programme this year.

Adrianna has already fought for England and this is an amazing opportunity for both sisters to compete on the international stage.

Meanwhile, Boston’s James Teft travelled to Cotgrave, Nottinghamshire, to box Lucas Milns from Clifton ABC.

It was obvious from the first moment the team set eyes on Milns that the bout was going to be tough.

Milns was taller than Teft, himself being fortunate to have height as an advantage, but Milns’ size was accompanied with brute force.

From the start, Teft took the fight to his opponent, but his efforts were in vain as Milns unleashed an all-out offensive, which had the referee intervene.

The referee gave the Boston pugilist time to recover, but the Nottinghamshire lad was awarded with a win by TKO.

Sometimes in boxing you have to chalk things up to experience, and this was one of those times.

Scott Harman returned to the ring.

However, Ben Jackson, also from Clifton ABC, was in no mood to take this contest to the last round.

Harman was boxing with caution, keeping his guard high, and soon felt the full force of his opponent.

As the referee stepped in to halt the round, Harman received a full 10 count as Jackson proved just too strong.

A second show on the same evening saw Tommy Upsall compete for the vacant area title.

He faced Levi Giles from Grimsby ABC, and the home crowd were vocal from the start.

The contest was over four rounds and was, without doubt, the main event of the evening.

Both boxers gave their all, but the judges favoured the home boxer.

The Boston team thought the bout was closer than final result suggested, and Upsall was sure he had done enough.

He will have another chance to rest his case as a rematch has been made for March 19, on the Boston home show.
