Cox hits 137 to break a 23-year snooker record
Brian Cox
BRIAN Cox has claimed the Boston Snooker League’s best break record... which stood for more than two decades.
The former professional made a break of 137 as he played against Lee Ford last Wednesday.
The previous best break - one point behind on 136 - was made by Nigel Salmon in the 1989-90 season.
“It’s a good feeling to get the record,” said former professional Cox.
“I’ve done a 147 break in practice at home before, but that doesn’t count.
“This is my best-ever break in the Super League.”
Cox has previously hit a 145 in competitive action, but not in the Boston league.
It has been a good few months for Cox who recently received an England call-up.
He competed for his country in a Grand Slam event against Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
Cox helped England reach the final in Prestatyn. where they lost to hosts Wales.
