Men’s coxed fours drop Ancholme

BOSTON Rowing Club battled to elements to did well to hold their annual Head of the River race on Saturday - as umpires and officials delayed and cancelled some races due to the the windy conditions.

Two of the planned three divisions took place on the Witham, with Boston achieving a convincing win in the Men’s Coxed Four (MasC 4+) over Ancholme Rowing Club.

Olivia Apletree coxed the crew of Adrian Apletree, Dave Raine, Pat Burns and Robert Parker down the 3k course in 11 mins 48 secs.

Boston’s composite crew, teaming up with Derby in the quadruple sculls (IM2 4X-), took a second place (10mins 12sec),
